Stamp Festival

This weekend was the Heirloom Pro Rubber Stamp Festival at Ag Hall in Allentown, PA.  What fun!

Friday they had classes all day.  I took three classes.  Embossing folders with Endless Creations, Flower Soft with Our Daily Bread Designs and Fancy Folded Cards with Our Daily Bread Designs.  Then at night they had Design & Treasure ~ a round robin of four classes.  What a fabulous time!  The classes were all great and I learned some new techniques for my cards and scrapbooks.

Saturday was shopping!  There's just so much to see and do it's really hard to fit it all into one day.  Since I took classes on Friday, I did get passes for Saturday and Sunday.  But, shot my stash of funds for the festival in one day.  At one point, I decided to look and then go back to pick up what I wanted to get.  While good in theory, it was not good in practice.  There were several stamps, dies and inks I wanted to go back to grab but couldn't remember where they were.  At least I got business cards from the vendors so that I can shop their sites and pick things up later.  I was thinking about going back down Sunday to pick up a couple of stamps from Stamps by Judith but didn't think it was worth the gas.  I'll just place an online order in the next week or so.

So, Sunday will just be for typical laundry, housework and playing with my new stash!  So, many new things so little time to play, but I'll have to make the best of it!  Off to my studio....see you soon.

Studio move delay

Shortly after my post yesterday about moving my studio upstairs, I got a call from my boss to change my schedule the remainder of the week.  And, after talking about all that needs to be moved, we decided to postpone the move until my husband gets back to help with moving all the heavy furniture, especially since everything will have to go up or down two flights of stairs.  While I am bummed about delaying the move, it will give me more time to decide what color to paint the room, get some additional storage, sell some of my current storage and in general be more ready for the move.  Plus, it will give me some time to create some other decor for the room too.

Let me know some ideas for paint colors, storage options, etc.  Can't wait to see what you share with me!!

Hibernation over ~ time to emerge

Even though winter this year wasn't particularly precipitous this year, I feel that I've been hibernating through it and now it's time to emerge!   While I've been keeping up with what's going on in the world of papercrafting I have not created very much over the winter.  But, my creative juices are flowing and I'm now ready to get some projects going.

One of my first projects is to move my studio, literally.  It's rather exciting.  My son has decided that he needs to move to the basement so my studio will be moving upstairs.  I am really excited to have a new space for my studio.  While I enjoyed my basement studio I think having a new space will be creatively stimulating.   With so many things to think about for it.

My style will always be shabby chic but now I'll have a room to paint!  Hmm ~pink, turquoise, lime, lavender.
Window treatments, storage containers, inspiration, decor.......

I think we're going to try to get this done before my husband gets back from his business trip on Friday, yes this Friday.

Just think, when I get home from work I can read, like I do now to wind down from work, or go to my new studio to create all night long......
